In May of 2024 we partnered with Best Buy Canada to produce a national campaign for Garmin’s running product line. Our team delivered 8 variations of the spot, including vertical and widescreen formats, as well as 15-second and 30-second cuts in both French and English to meet distribution requirements across platforms. This included in store broadcasts (across all monitors and displays), and continues to be in select seasonal promotionals. To execute the production, we coordinated a team of subcontractors, including hair and makeup, lighting, and an assistant director, while also managing approvals with Best Buy’s production, marketing, and product stakeholders.
Filming took place across multiple locations in New Westminster, with a particular focus on dynamic, product-in-motion shots. This required several custom camera rig setups, the most notable being a gimbal mounted to the front of an electric trishaw at Minoru Race Track. This rig allowed us to capture athletes in motion from a close, stable perspective, aligning with the client’s request for race-style action shots that showcased the product in a high-performance environment. We documented a portion of this behind-the-scenes process, which can be viewed here.
The campaign demonstrated our ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects while maintaining creative flexibility in production. It also highlighted our technical expertise in designing and deploying custom rigs to meet unique client needs, as well as our capacity to deliver polished, bilingual content on schedule.
